Elite Welding & Fabrication: The Keller Owner’s Guide

We stock and install Elite-compatible welding and fabrication parts across the Keller area, with most hinge, bracket, and frame repairs priced between $180 and $650 installed, depending on the extent of the weld work and steel required. Same-day service is available for most Elite gate repairs, and our trucks carry the common Elite hinge assemblies, weld-on brackets, and reinforcement plates so we can usually finish the job in one visit. The way most Keller homeowners discover a fabrication problem is gradual: the gate starts dragging at the latch side, or a hinge pops and creaks louder each week, or a weld finally cracks at a stress point after years of Texas sun and soil movement.

Which Elite Models This Applies To

Elite gate operators pair with a range of steel and aluminum gate frames, and we regularly weld and fabricate for the SL-3000, CSW-200, and Mirage series installations common in Keller driveways. The operator itself rarely fails at the fabrication level, but the mounting brackets, hinge plates, and frame members the operator bolts to are steel, and that is where Keller soil and weather do their work. If you have the Elite manual or the model plate on the motor housing, that tells us the operator, but for fabrication, what matters more is the gate’s weight, the hinge spacing, and the condition of the posts. On Elite gates specifically, we see two recurring compatibility issues: the factory hinge plates are sometimes undersized for a full steel gate, and the motor mounting brackets can crack at the weld seam where they bolt to the frame. In both cases we fabricate a heavier plate or a reinforced bracket rather than re-welding the same thin metal back into the same failing spot. For most Elite fabrication repairs, a quality aftermarket steel plate or a custom-fabricated bracket from our shop will outlast the original, no matter which Elite model hangs on it.

Signs Your Elite Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

  • The gate drags or scrapes at the latch end. The hinge plates have shifted, the frame has sagged, or a weld has stretched. A dragging gate puts extra strain on the Elite motor, and that is when operator failures start.
  • A hinge creaks, pops, or groans on every cycle. Creaking is metal moving against metal where it should not, and the cause is usually a worn hinge pin or a cracked weld at the hinge plate. Ignoring it widens the crack until the hinge tears loose entirely.
  • Visible cracks at any weld joint. Walk the gate and look at every joint: hinge mounts, corner joints, the diagonal brace, the motor bracket. A hairline crack is a warning, and Keller’s seasonal ground shift will work it wider within months.
  • The gate leans noticeably toward the open or closed position. The post is shifting in the soil, or the frame itself has twisted. Elite operators handle a lot of weight, but they cannot correct a frame that is out of square.
  • The motor bracket works loose repeatedly. If bolts keep backing out or the bracket flexes under load, the pad it welds to is fatiguing. Re-tightening is temporary; the fix is a larger plate or a re-weld with proper reinforcement.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Keller, simple hinge re-welds and bracket reinforcement typically run $180 to $300, which covers grinding the old weld, preparing the steel, welding, and a coat of rust-inhibiting paint. Full hinge replacement with heavier fabricated plates usually lands between $350 and $550, and frame repair with custom-cut and welded steel members can reach $650 or more on a large estate gate. We quote options before any work begins: we will show you the failed steel, explain what we recommend, and give you a written price that does not change after we start. Every Elite fabrication repair we complete carries our 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing. And we keep the $50 Off Any Repair Over $250 offer active for Keller homeowners, along with the permanent 5% senior and veteran discount.

DIY or Call Us?

What you can safely check: look for visible cracks at the weld joints, watch the gate as it cycles for any lean or drag, and note any new creaks or pops. Tightening a loose hinge bolt is fine. What we do not recommend is welding it yourself. Gate frames under tension can spring when a weld releases, and a weld that looks solid but has poor penetration will fail again, usually where it can cause the most damage. Victor Salinas grew up in Keller and has repaired gates here long enough to know which welds fail and why. Call (254) 330-8718 and tell us what the gate is doing and what it is not doing. That is usually all we need to get started.
